In industries such as equipment manufacturing and household appliance production, materials must be moved quickly and safely to ensure the efficiency of automated machines.
Manufacturing plants therefore require lifting solutions that are safe, efficient, and suitable for their operational conditions in order to achieve maximum productivity.
With 13 years of experience in the lifting and handling industry, Viet Thanh Lift will share an overview of key lifting and handling equipment in manufacturing plants.
1. Overview of Lifting Solutions for Manufacturing Plants
During the processes of production, packaging, and distribution, complying with safety regulations is essential. This is particularly important to ensure the safety of both consumers and workers.
If heavy tasks rely solely on manual labor, such as workers carrying raw materials or heavy goods between floors, or loading and unloading cargo from trucks to warehouses under hot or rainy weather conditions, it will not only affect workers’ health but also increase the risk of product damage.
To improve operational quality, factories need to install appropriate lifting systems. These systems help reduce manual labor, improve safety, and ensure a smooth and continuous workflow.
2. Mobile Yard Ramp
The Mobile Yard Ramp, also known as a container loading ramp, is an essential piece of equipment for large warehouses with low dock heights. It allows forklifts to enter containers directly, enabling faster loading and unloading of goods.
The ramp functions like a bridge connecting the ground to the container so that forklifts can safely drive into the container.

It can reach a lifting height of up to 1.65 meters and support loads of up to 10 tons. However, when connecting the ramp to the container, proper alignment is required to ensure safe forklift operation.
The common ramp lengths are 10.3 meters or 12.8 meters, designed with a gentle slope that allows forklifts to move safely without slipping. It can be used with most four-wheel electric forklifts or diesel forklifts.
3. Mini Ramp / Small Loading Ramp
A Mini Ramp, or small loading ramp, is a smaller version of the standard loading ramp. Although it has a simpler structure, it performs the same function of connecting the warehouse floor with the truck bed, allowing forklifts to pass through.

The ramp does not require electricity and can be moved and adjusted using a forklift. Its load capacity is lower than that of standard yard ramps, usually below 6 tons.
Mini ramps help reduce investment costs, are easy to clean, and require minimal maintenance.
They are suitable for warehouses where the height difference between the warehouse floor and the truck bed is relatively small, typically less than 150 mm. Mini ramps can be used for small trucks, container trucks, electric forklifts, or pallet trucks.
Currently, mini ramps are commonly available with a 6-ton load capacity and are widely used in loading and unloading areas at ports, warehouses, and manufacturing plants.
4. Dock Leveler
A Dock Leveler is an automatic lifting platform widely used at warehouse loading docks for loading and unloading goods.
It is designed with a strong steel structure that connects the warehouse floor to trailers or other transport vehicles when there is a difference in height.

Dock Levelers act as a bridge between the container floor or transport vehicle and the warehouse floor or loading dock area. They significantly reduce manual labor and shorten the time required for loading and unloading operations.
In addition, Dock Levelers are capable of continuous operation and require relatively low maintenance costs.
5. Hydraulic Lift Table
The Hydraulic Lift Table, also known as a Scissor Lift Table, is an essential lifting device in automated production systems and is widely used in various industrial applications.
It comes in many different designs and configurations to suit specialized applications.
Hydraulic lift tables are used to lift goods between floors, raise raw materials to production machines, transfer materials between conveyor systems, or move goods at warehouse platforms.
Key advantages include durable operation, as the structure is made from high-strength steel and pivot points are equipped with self-lubricating bushings.

The system is highly safe thanks to its strong hydraulic cylinders, safety valves, and manual lowering valves that allow the table to descend safely in case of power failure. A one-way locking valve also prevents sudden dropping.
Hydraulic lift tables can support very large loads, with capacities reaching up to 10,000 tons depending on design.
They are manufactured according to ANSI MH29.1-2012 safety standards of the United States.
6. Hydraulic Goods Lift
Hydraulic goods lifts are simple and convenient systems used to transport goods or equipment between floors safely.
The lift has a simple structure, making it easy to operate and maintain. Its main components include hydraulic cylinders, a hydraulic power unit, guide rails, a lift cabin, and chain systems.
Hydraulic goods lifts are suitable for warehouses, factories, or buildings with lifting heights below 6 meters.

The typical load capacity ranges from 500 kg to 1000 kg, while the investment cost remains relatively low and installation is straightforward.
One of the major advantages of hydraulic goods lifts is their powerful hydraulic cylinder combined with heavy-duty chain systems capable of handling significant loads. Another benefit is that installation can be carried out without requiring a pit foundation.
7. Choosing a Lifting System Solution Provider
Increasing warehouse loading and unloading productivity, especially under harsh weather conditions, requires modern equipment to replace manual labor.
By implementing appropriate lifting systems such as hydraulic lift tables, Dock Levelers, and forklift yard ramps, factories producing plastic household goods and other industrial products can effectively solve their material handling challenges.
